Salma Hayek got her big break in Hollywood with a role in the film of Robert Rodriguez Desperado, eventually ascending to the pinnacle of Hollywood by playing the Oscar Award-nominated role in Frida. Hayek was also involved with television as producer of executive productions for Ugly Betty and other hit programs. Salma Hayek Jimenez, daughter of Spanish and Lebanese parents, was born in Mexico on the 2nd of September 1996 at Coatzacoalcos. Born into a privileged Catholic home, Hayek attended a convent school in Louisiana in the age of twelve and stayed together with an aunt Houston, Texas, during her teenage years. After a brief stint at a university in Mexico City after which she walked off to pursue a job in acting. She eventually went on to become a TV show's star in her native Mexico. Her first role in film, Hayek's move to Los Angeles was in 1991. She was determined to improve her English to be an Hollywood actress. Following a few small roles her way, she was offered a part alongside Antonio Banderas in 1995's Desperado.
